Brian J. MacNamara,C.N.C., M.Sc., N.D.,
Board Certified Traditional Naturopath & Iridologist.
"The first step to better health is in the realization that our genetic pre-disposition can be burdened by our thoughts, lifestyle and diet. This leads to the depletion of nutrients and the decline of function. I can help you learn these patterns, how they affect your health and what to do about them"
- Brian J. MacNamara

"The Physician Heals; Nature Makes Well."
"More & More people are looking to vitamins & herbs to replace their pills and 'cure' them. This isn't right. Holistic Nutrition, Iridology and Naturopathy are but tools for you to realize what your specific trials & tribulations may be in this lifetime. Once your biodiversity is known, you may avoid or improve chronic problems by altering how you eat, think and live. It is a blessing from God-this art." - Brian J. MacNamara

  • I have been involved with natural science, in one way or another, for over three decades. However, my journey into holistic nutrition came about in 1990 when I came across the work of biochemist John Bogden, PhD., Univ. of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Studying the nutritional status of HIV+ individuals, he reported that 6 of the 21 nutrients he marked were significantly below normal in 25% of his participants. This interested me and as I studied the deficient nutrients I began to realize the vital role they play in our health, not only in immune system function, but throughout the body.  This was a time when the dangers of Aquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDs) were emerging. Much was accomplished using foundations of Holistic Nutrition and I found myself working with people living with HIV/AIDS, seniors, women and the mentally challenged, I became more politically pro-active, I began to help those in need develop sensible approaches to improving their health in addition to study and broadcasting the emerging information about pioneering advances in understanding nutrition. Contributing to the efforts of the Nutritional Health Alliance, I participated in the passing of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) in 1994. I testified before the White House Commission on CAM Policy and the committee on Health & Human Services, Washington, D.C., about the right of citizens to know the benefits of natural therapies and the right for Naturopathy to offer it to them. Several points regarding standards and ethics were adopted in their final report.
  • Adapting my traditional education & experiences to my new career path in holistic health, I began work with the mentally challenged as a house manager and worked with counselors and medical doctors to integrate wholesome nutrition into careplans in an attempt to foster healthful changes. I also was a caregiver to the elderly in a personal care facility and, eventually, an Alzheimer's unit.
  • These experiences, as well as personal events, gave me a great deal of understanding about the benefits and downfalls of allopathic medicine. To date, I am interested in immunomodulation, mental health and the affects of excitotoxins on the nervous system, as well as, helping the elderly improve their lifestyle through nutrition. The skills I learned as a listener, communicator and practitioner in the early years have served me well today.
  • I came to work for a chiropractor and holistic center as a Nutritional Consultant as an adjunct to my studies. We incorporated chiropractic evaluation, symptomatology, blood work assay and Iridology as a profile for assessment. Holistic care plans were developed for the individual including a nutritional approach and other holistic modalities. Studying towards a doctorate in Naturopathy I came to study with Dr Jensen and, like hundreds of thousands of people worldwide, discovered the benefits Iridology can provide regarding genetic pre-disposition, environmental factors and how nutrition can support better health.
  • My goal is to educate people on the options that holistic modalities can offer in support of improved health, well-being, personal fulfillment and involvement in our community. A way to learn better dietary and living habits to bring about wellness, peace and a sense of fulfillment in ourselves and the world around us. Additionally, continuing my education as to the latest scientific research and breakthroughs in Iridology and Naturopathy in order to implement accurate, ethical, legal and supported information to my clients and professional associates, as well as, promoting the standardization of Iridological practice and the support through accepted scientific research while preserving the holistic "art" of Iris Analysis as pioneered by the late Dr. Bernard Jensen.

  • I have operated my consulting business, Nutritional Assessment Services, Inc., in a unique way since 2000. By combining accepted tenets with holistic assessment, I obtain a sharp perspective on your health patterns.
